Salehoo and Worldwide Brands are both directories of suppliers (this Salehoo review goes into much more detail about the features of both), but which is better in the much faster paced online marketplace of 2018 for a new e-commerce store?
Salehoo and Worldwide Brands
Both Salehoo and Worldwide Brands are directories of wholesalers that have been certified – that means that they have been checked and are guaranteed to be reliable.
There are millions of products listed in each directory – and you can search through both the suppliers and products by keyword. However, you need to contact each supplier directly and buy from them individually – there is no interface that lets you import products or automate this process.
Two popular alternatives to Salehoo (and other directories) are sites like DHGate and Ali Express. These are marketplaces like eBay or Amazon, but for Chinese wholesalers who ship goods (slowly) to the rest of the world.
The main advantages these have are that they are free to join, the products are cheap and their sites are easy to use – you can also use apps like Oberlo to automate the process of listing products in your online store.
Of all the options open to new store owners, Worldwide Brands has the best combination of scale and reliability. Salehoo is a good tool though – and it is initially cheaper with an annual membership fee of only $67 per year.
